Z-5 Express, 1936

Z-5 Express był samochodem produkowanym przez Československá Zbrojovka w latach 30. XX wieku. W 1933 roku Zbrojovka przetestował prototypowy, czterocylindrowy samochód jako większą i bardziej luksusową kontynuację Z-4.

W produkcji samochodu zastosowano czterosuwowy czterocylindrowy silnik o pojemności 1470 cm3 ze średnicą cylindra 90 mm i skokiem tłoka 77 mm. Samochód został pokazany w październiku 1935 roku podczas Prague Motor Show, a sprzedaż była kontynuowana również po przystosowaniu fabryki do produkcji wojskowej od 1936 r. Ostatni samochód został sprzedany w 1938 roku. Wyprodukowano 357 pojazdów.

The Brno arms factory Zbrojovka extender its range of passenger cars with twin-cylinder two-stroke engines In 1935 with a bigger car, the Z-5 Express, whose front wheels were driven by a 1.5 litre two-stroke four-cylinder engine. It was not destined to be produced for long, however, for a brown cloud hung over Europe and the Republic needed arms for its defence, and so the factory discontinued automobile production in October 1936. The first owner of the Z-5 Express car preserved in the National Technical Museum collection was General Alois Eliáš. In 1939, he took upon himself the onus of the thankless position of Prime Minister in Czech Lands occupied by the Nazis, also operating as one of the leading personalities of resistance in this country. In 1942, the Nazis executed General Eliáš for his activity in the resistance movement. Passenger car with a water-cooled two-stroke four-cylinder engine placed length-wise behind the front axle and with front-wheel drive.
