Czeska historia motoryzacji nie została stworzona tylko przez samochody wyprodukowane w tym kraju. Znaczącą rolę odegrały również importowane samochody zagranicznych producentów, które w okresie przed I wojną światową przewyższały lokalnie produkowane samochody na czeskich drogach.

Fakt, że kierowcy w Czechach mądrze wybierali automobile, można zobaczyć dzięki jednemu z najlepszych eksponatów w kolekcji Narodowego Muzeum Techniki – najstarszemu istniejącemu Audi na świecie. Ten samochód został zachowany w niezwykle kompletnym i oryginalnym stanie. Wyprodukowany został w 1911 roku.

Czech automobile history was not created only by cars made in this country; imported cars of foreign producers, which in the period before the First World War outnumbered locally produced cars on Czech roads, also played a significant role. The fact that motorists in the Czech Lands chose shrewdly can also be seen from another of the finest exhibits in the National Technical Museum collection – the oldest Audi in existence in the world. This car has been preserved in an unusually complete and original condition. Its first owner, RNDr. Paul Pallme-König from Kamenický Šenovin North Bohemia, dismantled it at the beginning of the First World War in fear of its being requisitioned and stored it in the attic of his house, where it remained for more than forty years. The car was reassembled when, after the death of its owner, it became part of the museum collection.
