XVIII. Budapest Oldtimer Show 2023

This year, International Oldtimer Vehicle Exhibition will be held for the 18th time. The location is once again the Hungarian Railway History Park (Bp.-Zugló).

The main attraction of the event will be the exhibition of oldtimer cars and motorcycles in the locomotive garage. Covering 28 service manholes, a 4,700 square meter exhibition hall was created, where exclusive automobiles and motorcycles will be exhibited. In the thematic sections, the repertoire will be complete, from Italian small cars to American big irons. Cars and motorcycles from the same country will be placed in thematic sections. The co-chairs of the exhibition are the 112-year-old Benz Roadster 1911′ automobile with wooden wheels and the 113-year-old Terrot 1910′ antique motorcycle.

The organizers don’t forget about the models of the Eastern Bloc either, since we grew up on it. The dream cars of our childhood will be on display, from the Kispolski to the President’s Csajká.

Youngtimer

Very nice examples of today’s fashionable „youngtimer” sports cars will be exhibited. The organizers also thought of the children, as the cartoon legend: Lightning McQueen and the talking car KITT will be live here. There will also be an exhibition of vintage bicycles in the locomotive garage in front of the Keleti-Pályaudvar model. The quality of the exhibition is enhanced by numerous antique automobiles from abroad. Breaking with tradition, there will also be two new style display stands where restomod and extreme rebuilt cars will be on display. All this is the prelude to the „Tuning and Retro Festival” to be held in October, which will also be held in the Railway History Park.

The Oldtimer Show is not just an exhibition. The event spreads over a total of 10 hectares, where there are plenty of attractions and additional programs. On Saturday there will be a „Tuning Car Exhibition” in the Víztorony Park area, on Sunday there will be an „OT Meeting” Jaguar Club Meeting and ACCH American car meeting. In the Water Tower Park connected to the large park, veteran military camps, a country house museum, animal pens, an amusement park and a racing car exhibition add color to the program. A novelty is the sports car exhibition located in the large park at the site of the caravan exhibition. There will be backyard fairs in the large park on „Gastro” and „Kézműves” streets. At the decorative fountain, we designated a picnic park for large families.

Atractions for children

Children can play until they suffocate in many free programs: archery, airsoft shooting, handicrafts, craft demonstrations, face painting, children’s drawing competition, petting zoo and interactive exhibition of handicraft production tools. A playground, wurstli, model railway and field table exhibition complete the children’s paradise.

Adults can see Europe’s largest steam locomotive and railcar exhibits. Many newly completed rail vehicle restorations will be on display! The Golden Train and the 120-year-old teak wooden carriage will be on display. On the occasion of the Oldtimer Show, all railway interactive programs come to life! A real steam locomotive will be heated, there will be a railcar, a horse-drawn train, carriages, a garden railway and a locomotive rotation (the latter free of charge).

Show dates and more informations

The 18th Oldtimer Show will be on display for 3 days at the following opening hours: Apr. 14. (Friday) 12:00-18:00, Apr. 15 and 16 (Sat. and Sun.) from 09:00 to 18:00.

Parking is free for visitors! The park can be reached by public transport and by bicycle. On the MÁV Esztergomi line, you can get off at the Railway Museum stop.

The public washrooms and toilets in the park are also free of charge. Visitors can bring their snacks to the event.
